Liz and Kim have finished both Foundations A, B and the advance courses with Joannes Boele van Hensbroek - Acupuncturist, Physiotherapist, Massage Therapist. http://joannesboele.co.nz/About+Joannes
The course provided the theory and practical skills for holistic pain management using dry needling, acu-stimulation, acupressure, and ear acupuncture (without needles).
Dry Needling involves needling to altered or dysfunctional tissues in order to improve, or restore function. This may include needling of Myofascial trigger points, Periosteum or other soft tissues. Dry needling is purely for pain relief and is based on recent understanding in pain science.
The Acu-stimulator allows you to stimulate the acupuncture point by massaging the skin above which stimulates the energy flow through the meridian. Stimulating the correct point for about 30 seconds is often enough to decrease some of the pain.
The advance course learning clinical approaches help with the treatment of neck pain, headaches, migraines, toothache, throat, TMJ pain, acute and chronic back pain, sciatica and piriformis syndrome. Continuing practical treatment on shoulder and other upper extremity pains, hip and other lower extremity pains.
